COFFEE SNOBS VOL 1 - CASSETTE

A really simple concept beat tape inspired by MF DOOMs special herbs. I wanted to blend two of my favorite things: hip hop and coffee. Each track on this project is sampled from an artist from a country or region well known for its coffee production. It was an enormous challenge to find and sample tracks from artists and countries I would normally not listen to much less sample. It's really easy as a producer to fall into patterns of looking for specific music and sampling it the same way every time, so the challenge here was to break out of my comfort zone with different kinds of music. I kind of hated it while I was doing it but it came together well and sounds very different from what I usually make so I'd say I accomplished what I set out to do.
